I'm Mario A. Reyes
Speaker · Poet · Author · Veteran · Cultural Strategist
Air Force veteran, published author, and the person institutions call when policy isn't enough and PowerPoint won't cut it. I use poetry, storytelling, and lived experience to help people and institutions find the language they've been missing — and the trust that comes after.
MARIO A. REYES BLENDS SPOKEN WORD, LIVED EXPERIENCE, AND INSTITUTIONAL STRATEGY INTO SOMETHING MOST TRAINING ROOMS HAVE NEVER SEEN.

Let's Be Honest
You didn't come here for another consultant with a deck.
You came here because the usual training isn't landing anymore, and you already know it. Officers nod and forget it by Monday. Keynote speakers say inspiring things that don't survive the drive home. That's not what I do. I walk into the room the same way I walk onto a stage — with a poem, a true story, and a framework that's still standing on Tuesday. That's the room I build.
Before the Stage
I didn't set out to be a keynote speaker. I set out to survive, then to serve, then to say something true about both.
The Air Force gave me discipline. Poetry gave me language. And somewhere between spoken-word stages and agency conference rooms, I realized the tools that healed me — story, rhythm, honesty — were the same tools institutions were missing. That's not a career pivot. That's a translation.
Praise for I'ght So Bloom
Prolific. When I think of Mario Reyes as a writer, a poet, an artist, the first word that comes to mind is prolific. His pen game, the way he bridges flows, and the spirit he puts into his work is beyond this world. He is one of the greatest to ever do it.

Grammy Award–winning poet
Mario's friendship and voice have been a steady force in The Gathering Spot community. In I'ght So Bloom he brings that same courage and clarity to the page, pushing forward the conversations we need around healing, manhood, and the power of showing up for yourself and others.

I'ght So Bloom is more than a memoir—it's a blueprint and a battle cry for any man who has ever wrestled with becoming his best self. Mario walks us through his mental health journey with the same honesty, humor, and heart he brings to his community work, reminding us that growth isn't a straight line—it's a bloom that demands patience, presence, and purpose.
Sean Williams
Founder of The Dad Gang
A necessary and timely work that speaks to the sacred labor of healing—especially for Black men who were taught to survive but never taught how to be whole. I'ght So Bloom refuses shortcuts; it honors the slow, often uncomfortable journey from silence to self-awareness, from pain to purpose. A roadmap, and an invitation to bloom—on purpose.
